To help you find your way around our beautiful university city of Freiburg and quickly make new contacts, we offer you a wealth of information under International.
Freiburg has a lot to offer, especially for students from abroad: The location in the border triangle of Germany, France and Switzerland, the Black Forest and the Vosges Mountains on the doorstep, students from all over the world, renowned universities and the service package of the Studierendenwerk, including rooms, health insurance and support from tutors.
In the following, you will also find initial answers to possible questions that you might have during your studies in Germany.
A foreign culture, a different climate and unfamiliar food - that can "upset the stomach". But how do you find the right doctor in an unfamiliar city? Our social counselling service helps you find the right doctor with foreign language skills.
Office hours of the Social Counselling Service are Monday and Tuesday from 9.00-12.00 and Thursday from 13.30-16.00, as well as by appointment by telephone. You can find the contact details of Barbara Toth and Nerea Ulrich on the right.
Students who do not come from EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway are allowed to work a maximum of 120 full working days or 240 half working days per calendar year! This restriction does not apply if you have a part-time student job at the university or at the Studierendenwerk.
