The Studierendenwerk also awards scholarships - partly from its own funds and for students of the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität additionally financed by donations, in particular from Alumni e.V., Verband der Freunde e.V. and the Maria-Ladenburger Stiftung.

Above-average performance, social or societal commitment are relevant in the application process.

The requirements for financial support are set by the funding guidelines of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The basic scholarship for students depends on their own income as well as assets and the income of their parents or spouse. It amounts to a maximum of 752 euros per month. In addition, scholarship holders receive a monthly flat-rate tuition allowance of 300 euros - doctoral students receive a scholarship of 1,350 euros per month.
